The Sports Administration and Management Association is run by our Executive Board and Management Board members. While aiding in the planning and daily operations of the organization, students are encouraged to showcase their knowledge and skills to promote professional development, leadership, and opportunities.

Alley Ruthenberg
I am a transfer student at Wayne State University, and I am currently pursuing two Bachelors of Science degrees in Sports Management and Marketing. Outside of school, I am the Harbor Supervisor at the nationally ranked, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Also, I have been part of the online sports media company called Sports Girls Club since the start of 2024, where I am the Lead Brand Quality Designer. I have a deep passion for all of the background work that goes into sporting events, and I love to continue to grow my knowledge on the industry. I am always interested in connecting with fellow peers and making connections within the industry.

Gabe Goode
Hi, my name is Gabe Goode, and I am the Vice President of SAMA. This is my third year here at Wayne State studying Sport Management, with minors in Sport Coaching, Exercise and Sports Science, and Sports and Exercise Psychology. I currently work with the WSU Baseball team as a student manager, and this will be my third year doing that. I also worked with the USPBL as a Baseball Operations Intern in the summer of 2024. Then I worked with the Detroit Tigers as an Authentics Event Staff for the summer and fall of 2025. I am passionate about working in the baseball industry in the future and helping fellow colleagues along the way.
